Lime Scooter Ridership Increase During Taylor Swift's Denver Visit

Denver's Lime ridership jumped 65% on Taylor Swift concert nights during the Eras Tour, and new user signups shot up 150%. I didn't expect Taylor Swift to be a case study in micromobility trends, but here we are.

Lime had their best year ever in Denver - over 3.5 million rides in 2023. Since launching there in 2017, they've hit 10.5 million trips total, which they estimate replaced about 2.5 million car trips. That's actually meaningful for reducing urban traffic.

The "Swiftie effect" wasn't just in Denver. Cincinnati saw a 200% spike in rides, Tampa had a 180% increase in new accounts, and Seattle got a 165% bump in first-time rides during tour dates. Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour had similar impacts, especially in European cities.

What's interesting here is how major cultural events drive adoption of new transportation modes. Concert-goers are looking for alternatives to parking nightmares and surge pricing on rideshares. Scooters fill that gap perfectly - cheap, available, and you can skip traffic.

Lime just crossed 500 million lifetime trips. If they can convert these one-time concert users into regular riders, they might actually have a sustainable business model. That's a big if though.
