Mysa In-Floor Thermostat: A Comprehensive Review

I just installed two Mysa In-Floor Thermostats in my bathrooms during my remodel. Here's what I learned:

What works:

  • Installation was straightforward. The mounting plate and removable faceplate make it easier than most thermostats I've dealt with.
  • Error codes are actually helpful. When something went wrong during setup, Mysa told me exactly what the problem was instead of just failing silently.
  • WiFi remote control through the app works great. No lag, reliable connection.
  • The design looks good. Clean, modern, fits with contemporary home interiors.

What doesn't:

  • HomeKit setup was a pain. It needs a solid WiFi network to work properly, and even then I had trouble getting it connected. This took way longer than it should have.
  • The thermometer nub is too big. I had issues fitting it under certain types of flooring without creating bumps. They need to make this smaller.
  • The touch interface requires a firm press to activate. It works, but it's not as responsive as I'd like.

The Mysa In-Floor Thermostat does what it's supposed to do, and once it's set up, it works well. But the HomeKit hassles and some design issues kept this from being a five-star product. I'd give it 4 out of 5 - good, but there's room for improvement.
