Ikea’s Dirigera hub looked promising in October 2022 because it aimed to support HomeKit, Matter, and Thread without the usual premium pricing. AppleInsider reported a European listing near €60.
I liked the direction, but three compatibility labels on a box weren’t enough. A hub has to keep cheap bulbs and switches reachable after setup and updates. I would rather buy the boring hub that stays online than the clever one that needs another reset. Matter’s certification launch made that reliability test more urgent.
